குரூப் 2 வினாத்தாள் வெளியான வழக்கில் சிபிசிஐடி தனிப்படை போலீசாரால் தேடப்பட்டு வந்த முக்கிய குற்றவாளியான ரிஷிகேஷ் குண்டு என்பவரை சி.பி.சி.ஐ.டி போலீசார் நேற்று கைது செய்தனர். தமிழகம் முழுவதும் 12.8.2012-ஆம் தேதி குரூப் 2 தேர்வு நடைபெற்றது. ஈரோட்டில் உள்ள ஒரு தேர்வு மையத்தில் முன்கூட்டியே வினாத்தாளை வைத்திருந்த இளம்பெண்ணை அதிகாரிகள் பிடித்து ஈரோடு நகர காவல் நிலையத்தில் ஒப்படைத்தனர். அவரிடம் போலீஸார் நடத்திய விசாரணையைத் தொடர்ந்து அந்தப் பெண்ணின் கணவர் உள்பட மேலும் 3 பேரை போலீஸார் கைது செய்தனர். இதைத் தொடர்ந்து சென்னை அரும்பாக்கத்தை úóந்த மனோகரன் மகன் மோகன்பாபு (24), சென்னையில் உள்ள ஒரு ஐந்து நட்சத்திர ஹோட்டலில் கணக்காளராக பணியாற்றும் ஜெய்நிவாசன் (26), மேடவாக்கத்தை சேர்ந்த பச்சியப்பன் மகன் சதீஷ்குமார் (27) ஆகியோர் கைது செய்யப்பட்டனர். இதேபோல நாமக்கல்லை சேர்ந்த இன்டர்நெட் மைய உரிமையாளர் செல்வராஜ், திருவள்ளூரை சேர்ந்த சகோதரர்கள் தியாகராஜன்,

A.N. Tiwari is the new Chief Information Commissioner – 30.09.2010

Information Commissioner A. N. Tiwari is the new Chief Information Commissioner, succeeding Wajahat Habibullah. He will, however, hold the job only till December 19, 2010 when he is due to retire, and this is, therefore, virtually a stop-gap arrangement.

Mr. Tiwari's name was cleared after consultations with the BJP, the principal Opposition party. A 1969 batch IAS officer and former Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training, his name has been forwarded to President Pratibha Patil for appointment as successor to Mr. Habibullah, who demitted office on 29.09.2010.

Mr. Tiwari's appointment comes after a year of indecision on who should succeed Mr Habibullah. While the government was keen that he should be replaced by a bureaucrat, civil society groups had been putting forward names of various activists.

National Security Adviser M. K. Narayanan  has been  appointed  Governor  of West  Bengal,   according  to  a Rashtrapati  Bhavan  communique  issued  here  late  on  16.01.2010.   He  is  among  the five  new  Governors  appointed  by  the  United  Progressive Alliance  government.

The  former  Union  Home Minister,   Shivraj  Patil,   was appointed  Governor  of  Punjab  as  well  as  Administrator of  the  Union  Territory  of Chandigarh,   the  communique  said.

The other new gubernatorial appointments are those of M. O. H.   Farook,   senior Congress  leader  and  former Indian  ambassador  to  Saudi Arabia,   as  Governor  of  Jharkhand;   Urmila  Singh,   a  member  of  the  Congress  Working Committee  ( CWC)   who  hails from  Madhya  Pradesh,   as Governor  of  Himachal  Pradesh;   and  Shekhar  Dutta,   former  Defence  Secretary,   as Governor  of  Chhattisgarh.

The Central government also transferred three Governors. While E. S. L.  Narasimhan  was shifted  to  the  Andhra  Pradesh Raj  Bhavan  from  Chhattisgarh  for  the  remainder  of  his term,   Prabha  Rau  was  transferred  from  Himachal  Pradesh  to  Rajasthan  for  the remainder  of  her  gubernatorial  term.   K.   Sankaranarayanan,   Governor of Jharkhand, has been moved to the Maharashtra Raj Bhavan.

With Mr.  Narayanan’s  appointment  as  Governor,   the government  is  now  all  set  to name  a  new  NSA;   the  former Foreign  Secretary,   Shiv  Shankar  Menon,   and  Shyam  Saran, the  Prime  Minister’s  Special Envoy  on  Climate  Change, are  said  to  be  in  the  reckoning.
